Saturday Worship
Experience Community Worship with the Blood-N-Fire family and the Blood-N-Fire Band. 6:00

Come join us as we dig into the Word and share what we find. 10:30

After School Program
Weekly tutoring, mentoring and recreation program for elementary, middle and high school students; targeting at-risk youth living in the East Central, McKinley and Gilbert Historic neighborhoods.  Volunteers are needed each Thursday from 3:30-5:30p.m. to help with student activities, meal preparation and program support.

Saturday Outreach
A free community meal held every Saturday at 5p.m.  Local residents in need of food can receive not just a hot meal, but also the opportunity for ongoing, supportive relationships to help them overcome barriers and strengthen lives.  An average of 125-150 plates are served every week.  Volunteers are needed to help prepare, serve and clean up from the meal; visit with meal participants; lead youth activities.

Prom Dress Store
The fourth annual Prom Store will provide new and gently used formal dresses for local high school students.* Store hours will be April 17, April 24, and May 1 (2010) from Noon - 3:00p.m. Dresses are $20 each (cash only) and limit one dress per student. Donate a dress and receive $5 off! (MUST BE A CURRENT STYLE AND FORMAL ENOUGH FOR PROM) For more information, contact Chrissy Bright (760-4713 or chrissy.bright@yahoo.com). Food Pantry

Community members in need of extra food assistance are invited to come the last Wednesday of each month from 3-5p.m. to receive free groceries. Attendees are welcomed with drinks and snacks and may choose which available food items they prefer. An average of 100-125 families are served each month. Volunteers are needed to help bag groceries, visit with clients, distribute cookies and drinks, and provide assistance to elderly and disabled clients.

Clothing Store
As a way to better serve the local community, Blood-N-Fire has converted a former tavern into a re-sale clothing store, open every Saturday from 2-4p.m. Providing high quality new & used clothing of all sizes and styles, all proceeds of sales go toward youth programs. Volunteers are needed to help with building maintenance, clothing sorting and store staffing.

Neighborhood Relocation
An intense commitment to community has motivated Blood-N-Fire leaders and staff to take residence in the neighborhoods adjacent to the community building. Local presence and home ownership build trust and partnerships with area residents, as well as increase commitment to advocacy and neighborhood improvement.

Thanksgiving & Christmas Outreaches
All community residents are invited to join in these special holiday celebrations. Held during our regular meal time, the holiday outreaches provide a fun and festive way to celebrate together. Volunteers are needed with food donations and meal preparation.

Community Christmas Store
The Christmas Store is a ministry outreach that provides assistance for families to purchase brand new presents at discounted prices for their children and grandchildren. During 2007, 1300 presents were distributed during 3 days. All store proceeds benefit international children’s programs. Financial contributions are gladly accepted for the purchase of toys. Volunteers are needed to help wrap presents.

Fall Festival
This exciting free community event is held each October featuring games, prizes, and food for the whole family. Hundreds of local families attend each year and all local residents are welcome. Volunteers are needed to help with games and events.

Community Gardens
Building community, economic development opportunities, and healthy food sources, community gardens are a new addition to Blood-N-Fire’s expanding neighborhood investments. Adults and youth are encouraged to participate in neighborhood beautification and urban gardening. Volunteers are needed to help with upkeep of community gardens.

Block Parties
During a recent neighborhood survey local residents identified block parties as one of the top ways to build a sense of community. Providing food, music and games these events have brought together more than 150 neighbors for fun and fellowship. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, food preparation and clean-up.

Disaster Relief
In the days following Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, Blood-N-Fire operated 3 distribution sites that supported approximately 130 semitrailers carrying $4 million in product distributed to 70,000 cars in less than 3 weeks. In Bridge City, TX alone up to 2,800 meals were served a day with a total of 27,000 served in two weeks.

Plunge2Poverty
This 2-day ‘retreat’ provides an interactive look at the realities of poverty and homelessness. Community and church groups of high school and college age youth can participate in this educational experience starting in the Summer of 2007.

Recreation Courts
Basketball, four-square, and hopscotch courts available for the public use.
